Job summary

NSA's Linguists, known as Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs), are tasked with translating and analyzing foreign language materials to support SIGINT missions. They may participate in LADP or be hired directly into analytic offices, with rotations across offices and training components.

Applicants should demonstrate ILR level 2/2 in reading and listening, and have relevant experience or education. A DCIPS framework and strong communication skills are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum ILR 2/2 in reading and listening for the target language.
• At least one year of relevant experience in language or related field.
• Bachelor's degree with relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Offer U.S. policymakers and military leaders a window into the foreign language world by analyzing, transcribing, and translating key information.
• Research and understand other cultures, how they operate, and their role in geo-political contexts.
• Apply new techniques and develop creative solutions to analytic problems using large data sets.
• Demonstrate understanding of communications and technology trends.
• Craft written and oral assessments providing unique insights.
• Work independently and collaborate with NSA and other analysts.
