Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking four CWS Case Managers to perform case management and concurrent planning in the Child Welfare Adoptions area, engaging with children and families to promote permanency and monitor safety and well-being.

Responsibilities include coordinating with legal and external partners, maintaining records, completing CANS, and facilitating family team meetings. Training and adherence to policy are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in SW/Behavioral/Social Science; MSW/BSW preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field with 1 year related experience accepted.
• Master’s degree may be preferred; Child Welfare experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs case management and concurrent planning in Child Welfare Adoptions per policy and GPS Practice Model.
• Contacts and collaborates with children and families to achieve permanency.
• Completes and updates CANS; uses it to inform Family Permanency Plan.
• Engages families and professionals with empathy; participates in CFT meetings.
• Coordinates with legal to promote timely permanency; adheres to court orders.
• Maintains case records per policy; documents in CAPSS.
• Maintains Child Welfare certification and completes 20 training hours yearly.
• Safeguards PII; protects agency networks and data.
• Performs Red Cross shelter or other emergency duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science

Bachelor’s Degree in any other field with 1 year related experience

Master’s Degree preferred in Child Welfare
