Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Cheektowaga, NY seeks a Chief Engineer to lead on-site operations, ensuring 100% uptime of building systems while maintaining safety, compliance, and client satisfaction.

You will supervise engineering staff, manage preventive maintenance for HVAC, boiler, refrigeration, and electrical systems, uphold CFWA processes, and partner with clients to optimize performance. A Bachelor's in Engineering or related field is required; PE or FM certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field.
• 7+ years of building operations and maintenance experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience managing engineering and maintenance teams.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and mechanical/electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and mechanical/electrical equipment to ensure consistent building performance.
• Supervise engineering and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with the CFWA process among staff, tenants, and contractors.
• Manage contractor activities and maintain adequate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
• Identify safety hazards, implement remediation plans, and administer safety training programs across the team.
• Maintain regulatory compliance documentation and equipment inspection records.
• Build and manage client relationships through formal and informal meetings, gathering and acting on feedback to improve service delivery.
