Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation Finance team, Traffic Operations division, seeks two Community Coordinators to handle chargebacks, disputes, and customer inquiries. You will investigate transactions, draft evidence, and ensure timely responses to support efficient operations.

Responsibilities include AMEX chargebacks, fraud checks on ParkNYC accounts, and preparation of reports. Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with two years in community work or related duties; or high school diploma with six years experience; or equivalent with at least one year in a comparable role.
• Experience in customer service, dispute processing, or operational support is preferred.
• Familiarity with policy adherence and documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve chargebacks, disputes, and complaints related to parking meters and ParkNYC systems.
• Research transactions and gather supporting docs for chargebacks and disputes.
• Draft correspondence and prepare evidence to dispute chargebacks.
• Submit and track chargeback responses within deadlines.
• Process AMEX chargebacks and prepare monthly worksheets and reports.
• Review ParkNYC accounts for fraud and verify refund accuracy.
• Follow up with customers by phone and written communication to resolve issues.
• Draft responses to customer inquiries on behalf of senior management.
• Prepare reports and perform analyses to identify process improvements.
• Assist with planning activities and policy/procedural improvements.
• Support special projects and assignments as needed.
