Job summary

Montclair State University is seeking a Change Manager to lead organizational change initiatives for project and system transformations. The role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, training, and ensuring readiness across departments.

The position supports on-campus presence with a possible hybrid arrangement based on needs. The incumbent will develop change strategies, drive adoption, and monitor success metrics while collaborating with project teams and leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive professional experience in IT management, large-scale transformation projects, or related field.
• Demonstrated success in rolling out ERP systems—preferably Workday—in a university setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in planning and facilitating organizational change.
• Strong knowledge of organizational change management principles, methodologies, techniques, and industry best practices.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute organizational change management strategies, processes, and tools.
• Create and implement comprehensive change management plans aligned with project objectives.
• Assess readiness and evaluate the impact of planned changes on employees and processes.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to change initiatives.
• Address resistance through proactive engagement, coaching, and stakeholder support.
• Partner with leadership to define roles and impacts from transformation initiatives.
• Develop and execute communication strategies explaining upcoming changes and actions required.
• Design, coord nonprofit? training programs and job aids for employees and managers.
• Conduct stakeholder assessments to identify key influencers and sponsors.
• Establish change success metrics, monitor adoption, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead change management workstreams with regular updates to leadership.
• Identify training needs and coordinate logistics and delivery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
