Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to join the operating room team in Granbury, Texas.

The role focuses on preparing and maintaining the sterile field, anticipating needs, and ensuring safe instrument handling to support high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with positioning and draping, managing instrument counts, and ensuring readiness of supplies and equipment for procedures.

Formación

• 0-2 years of operating room experience required
• Technical School diploma or Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist and BLS certification are required or preferred

Responsabilidades

• Prepares the operating room and ensures instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready based on procedure and physician preference.
• Maintains a sterile field throughout procedures using aseptic technique and universal precautions.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments and supplies efficiently during surgery.
• Handles instruments and equipment per manufacturer instructions and hospital policy, including cleaning and sterilization.
• Counts sponges, needles, and instruments with circulating nurse to support patient safety.
• Assists with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction.
• Maintains physician preference cards and procedural documentation for accuracy.
• Restocks supplies, cleans and returns equipment, and prepares rooms for subsequent cases to ensure OR efficiency.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular attendance and compliance with policies.
