Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support operating room teams in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. The role focuses on preparing the sterile field, maintaining asepsis, and assisting with instrument handling and case setup.

The successful candidate will have CST and BLS, be able to anticipate surgeon needs, and work well under pressurized conditions in a busy OR environment.

Qualifications

• Must have CST certification or eligible.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with sterile fields and instrument handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare OR by setting up instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Maintain sterile field throughout procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments promptly.
• Ensure instrument handling per policy and sterility protocols.
• Count sponges, needles and instruments with circulating nurse.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping as directed by RN.
• Maintain physician preference cards and procedure docs.
• Restock supplies and clean rooms between cases.
• Adhere to infection control and safety policies.
