Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast seeks a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to join the perioperative team in a fast-paced operating room. The CST assists with sterile setup, instrument handling, gowning, gloving and draping; supports perioperative care across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases.

The role emphasizes teamwork, accurate counts of instruments, and precepting others while upholding safety standards and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CST training program completed.
• Demonstrates respect for diverse patients, families and care partners.
• Excellent communication, accuracy and attention to detail in the OR.

Responsibilities

• Inspects OR for cleanliness; sets up equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Participates in time-out; maintains patient safety and sterile field.
• Assists with gowning/gloving and draping of the patient and team.
• Counts sharps, sponges, and instruments with the circulating nurse.
• Precepts other surgical team members as needed.
• Maintains instruments for terminal sterilization and supports supplies.

BLS - Basic Life Support

Education
