Job summary

Jefferson Health – Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (Cardiac) for a full-time day shift on the cardiac team. Experience in cardiac cases and CST/TS-C credentials are required.

The CST supports intraoperative sterile field maintenance and precepts teammates. Responsibilities include preparing the OR, gowning/gloving, assisting the surgeon, and ensuring patient safety through meticulous instrument counts and sterile technique.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of a surgical technician program.
• CST certification or TS-C credential; knowledge of sterile technique and operative procedures.
• Ability to maintain sterile field and assist the surgical team in cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile field for cardiac surgical procedures.
• Assist with gowning/gloving and draping of the patient and team.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and communicate with perioperative staff to ensure patient safety.
• Count sharps and instruments with circulating nurse and report discrepancies.
• Precept other surgical team members as needed.
