Responsibilities

• Recognizes patients and families and provides compassionate, coordinated care.
• Inspects OR for cleanliness and prepares equipment.
• Assists with gowning/gloving and sterile field maintenance.
• Counts sharps, sponges, and instruments with circulating nurse.
• Maintains sterile field and reports on procedure status to relief personnel.
• Acts as primary preceptor to other surgical team members when needed.
