Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to join the intraoperative team. The CST will create and maintain the sterile field, anticipate surgeon needs, and support the perioperative process across pre-, intra-, and post-operative care.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, assisting with gowning/gloving, reporting status to relief personnel, counting sharps and instruments, and precepting other surgical team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technician training program.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and instrument handling.
• Ability to work within an intraoperative team and maintain patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile field and OR equipment.
• Assist surgical team with gowning and gloving.
• Drape patient and maintain sterile field integrity.
• Participate in team time outs and ensure patient safety.
• Provide thorough hand-off reports to relief staff.
