Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support inpatient rehabilitation, performing initial assessments and delivering individualized treatment programs across ages from neonatal to geriatric. You will document progress and maintain records per Mercy policies, while applying modalities and exercise regimes under supervision.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited OTA program with current licensure or eligibility, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligibility for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience is preferred but new graduates will be considered.
• BLS certification required; certifications must be current before patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under direction from O.T.R./L.
• Document course of patient care including progress notes and continuing need for treatment.
• Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records for each patient.
• Promote education within the department.
