Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our inpatient team. Under the supervision of an occupational therapist, you will assist with initial assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients of all ages.

You will document progress, administer modalities, and maintain patient records in alignment with Mercy standards. The role requires graduation from an accredited OTA program and an active license (or eligibility) to practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under direction from O.T.R./L.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and treatment needs.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records.
• Participate in department education activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of needs across age groups including neonatal to geriatric.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
