Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support objective assessments and individualized treatment programs for patients of all ages. You will work under supervision, perform modalities and document patient progress, and contribute to departmental education and care standards.

Ideal candidates have OTA graduation, a current license or eligibility, and BLS certification. New graduates are welcome; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
• BLS certification is required and must be current to care for patients independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under direction from O.T.R./L. and per policy.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and continued need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and records for each patient including documentation and charges.
• Promote education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of needs across neonatal to geriatric populations.
• Perform duties observed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
