Job summary

Mercy is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant to work under the supervision of a licensed OT, delivering objective assessments and individualized treatment programs across all ages. You will document patient care, administer modalities, and maintain records in alignment with Mercy standards.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited OTA program, BLS certification, and licensure eligibility. One year of experience is preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• BLS certification required; current certification must be maintained.
• One year experience preferred but new graduates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under O.T.R./L. direction.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and treatment needs.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per policies.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records for each patient.
• Participate in promoting education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of needs across neonatal to geriatric ages.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.

Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible
