Job summary

Mercy is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support OT-led assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients across all ages. You will document care, administer modalities, and maintain records in compliance with department policies.

The role requires a graduate OTA program, active or eligible licensure, and BLS certification. Prior experience is preferred but new graduates are considered. Join a mission-driven team dedicated to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience is preferred but will consider new graduates.
• BLS certification required; certifications must be current before care for patients independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under the direction of O.T.R./L. per department policies.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and continuing need for treatment.
• Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per department policies.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient.
• Promote education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of special needs and behaviors for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric ages.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
