Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patient care in an inpatient setting. You will assist with initial assessments and follow through with treatment plans across neonatal to geriatric populations, under supervision of an OT.

The role emphasizes documentation, modality administration, and collaboration with the care team. Qualified candidates will have an accredited OTA program credential, active or eligible COTA licensure, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current COTA license or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• One year experience preferred; new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment under supervision.
• Document course of patient care and progress notes.
• Administer modalities and exercise regimes per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records.
• Promote department education.
• Demonstrate knowledge of needs across age groups.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor.
