Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support assessment and treatment plans for patients across all ages under supervision of a licensed OT. You will administer modalities, document care, and help ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The role requires graduation from an accredited OTA program, licensure or eligibility in Missouri, and BLS certification. New grads welcome with appropriate supervision; Mercy offers comprehensive benefits and a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required; certifications must be current before caring for patients independently.
• One year of experience preferred; new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under the direction of an OT and according to departmental policies.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and ongoing need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatments according to policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records per documentation and charging policies.
• Participate in department education initiatives.
• Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and behaviors for neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
