Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support therapists in delivering comprehensive treatment plans across neonatal to geriatric patients in a hospital setting. You will assist with initial assessments, carry out treatment modalities, and document patient progress under supervision.

Candidates should be graduates of an accredited OTA program with current licensure eligibility and BLS certification. New graduates are welcome, with opportunities for growth within Mercy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current licensure for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under supervision from OT.
• Document course of patient care including progress notes and treatment needs.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatments per departmental policies.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records for each patient.
• Promote department education and knowledge of patient needs across age groups.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
