Job summary

Cedarhurst Living is seeking a Certified Medication Aid (CMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care under the Director of Nursing. The CMA supports activities of daily living, promotes safety and wellbeing, and ensures accurate documentation of care and medication delivery.

Responsibilities include observing changes, communicating with physicians and families, and maintaining a high level of independence and resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution to residents per individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians, health care proxies, and supervisors with timely interventions.
• Document all pertinent observations, interventions, and daily medication assistance/care throughout the shift.
• Pass necessary information to the next shift and ensure timely documentation by Resident Assistants.
• Check vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Administer and document medications following the five rights (right medication, route, resident, time, dose).
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and nutritional/hydration needs.
• Participate in restorative techniques and ADL training as directed.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
