Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in Wichita, Kansas is seeking a Certified Medication Aid (CMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care in accordance with individualized care plans and safety protocols.

The CMA reports to the Director of Nursing and supports daily living activities, documents care events, and communicates with physicians, families, and supervisors to maintain residents' independence and well-being in a person-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current state-approved medication aide certification is required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution to residents while following an individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians, health care proxies, and supervisors and provide timely interventions.
• Document all pertinent observations, red flags, incidents, interventions, and daily medication care.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure timely documentation by Resident Assistants.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Administer and document medications in accordance with the five rights.
• Provide glucose monitoring and insulin administration (insulin-certified technicians only).
