Job summary

Cedarhurst Living in Shawnee, Kansas is seeking a Certified Medication Aid (CMA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care per individualized care plans. The CMA reports to the Director of Nursing and supports daily living activities while maintaining safety and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active CMA certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution per plan of care.
• Observe residents and report condition changes to physicians and supervisors.
• Document observations, incidents and medication delivery in care records.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure timely MAR documentation.
• Record vitals, blood glucose levels, and other assigned measurements.
• Administer medications following the five rights (right medication, route, resident, time, dose).
• Support residents with daily living activities and nutrition/hydration needs.
• Participate in medication delivery oversight, including narcotic counts and entry.
