Job summary

WellSpan Health’s Core Lab is seeking a Laboratory Scientist for full-time night shifts. The role requires performing routine and specialized testing with supervision, operating diverse instruments, and maintaining quality controls.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, data entry, and collaboration with medical staff to support infectious disease testing and blood banking processes. Opportunities to train peers and participate in new method evaluations are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• Completion of student clinical rotations; medical technology or related science.
• ASCP/AMT certification within 1 year as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and/or specialized testing under supervision.
• Operates laboratory instruments and records results.
• Conducts quality control and instrument checks.
• Identifies safety concerns and contributes to process improvements.
• Trains other employees in procedures.
• Interacts with medical staff for laboratory services.
• Participates in research and evaluates new products or methods.
