Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Central Regional Recruiter to build a strong pool of officers and staff. You’ll plan, source, and coordinate recruitment initiatives for multiple counties, working with agency leadership to fill vacancies and improve hiring outcomes.

Role emphasizes strategic field recruitment, use of social media, outreach to colleges, and events. Travel and occasional overtime are expected; a state vehicle and tools are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 years progressive experience in Human Resources with a valid driver’s license.
• Experience planning and implementing strategic field recruitment initiatives.
• Experience using social media tools and electronic platforms in recruitment.
• Experience sourcing candidates through web-based HR/recruitment platforms.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate recruitment to fill certified vacancies in the specified region.
• Source qualified candidates and collaborate with agency leadership and hiring teams.
• Facilitate recruitment events, career fairs, and community outreach activities.
• Engage colleges and professional boards to promote opportunities.
• Prepare presentations and maintain spreadsheets for applicant tracking.
• Use advertising, marketing, and social platforms to promote positions.
• Communicate effectively with applicants and stakeholders at all levels.
