Job summary

SpartanNash is hiring to lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store in Elkhart, IN. You will supervise staff, manage inventory, and ensure product quality and proper rotation by following company standards.

You will implement schedules, control labor and payroll costs, and maintain safety and food safety guidelines while aligning with flight plans and store promotions. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of retail experience preferred; one-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lead a team in a hands-on environment.
• Spanish language ability highly desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the department in a retail store and ensure staff are trained and goals are met.
• Order and maintain inventory, validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, and ensure proper storage.
• Manage a team responsible for stocking, production, and related tasks to ensure product quality and timely rotation.
• Maintain familiarity with department products and store-wide items and promotions.
• Communicate and execute weekly flight plans; manage scheduling, labor, overtime, and payroll expenses.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and safety guidelines across the store; take corrective action as needed.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts; participate in daily huddles and meetings.
