Job summary

SpartanNash in Elkhart, IN seeks a department supervisor to lead daily store operations in the absence of the department manager. You will train associates, ensure the department is staffed, stocked, and aligned with company standards while meeting KPIs and safety guidelines.

You will order and monitor inventory, validate received goods, manage pricing and promotions, coordinate with store teams, participate in huddles, and support scheduling and payroll control under our Total Rewards program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Knowledge of retail management systems and store operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the department in the absence of the department manager or as directed.
• Order and maintain inventory, using markdowns to minimize loss and ensure freshness and quality.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, condition and storage.
• Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and related tasks with emphasis on quality and date-sensitive rotation.
• Know ad items, special prices, coupons, and store rewards programs.
• Communicate and execute the weekly Flight Plan according to company timelines and expectations.
• Assist the department manager with scheduling, labor control, and payroll expenses.
• Attend daily huddles and meetings as required.
