Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Department Operations Supervisor to lead the day-to-day activities of a department in a Grand Rapids retail store. You will ensure staffing, training, and adherence to company standards while driving KPIs and guest satisfaction.

You will manage inventory, provide forecasted labor plans, and supervise associates to maintain product quality, freshness, and timely execution of promotions, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making and problem solving abilities.
• Strong leadership capabilities in a hands-on environment.
• Familiarity with retail store operations and management systems.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Spanish language ability may be desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store.
• Ensure staffing levels meet store needs and KPIs.
• Oversee inventory, markdowns, freshness and quality controls.
• Manage scheduling, labor, overtime and payroll for the department.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and safety guidelines.
• Train and develop department associates and conduct performance reviews.
• Participate in daily huddles and district meetings.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked department and execute Prime Time standards.
