Job summary

The USO is seeking a Center Operations Specialist in Dallas–Fort Worth, TX to run day-to-day operations, provide excellent service to service members and families, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment. Responsibilities include managing programs, events, volunteers, and budgets, while reporting on inventory and operational metrics.

A high school diploma and 2+ years in related fields are required; strong teamwork and communication are essential to support USO centers and the military

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in event management, marketing, customer service or related role.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with budget reporting and inventory controls.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day Center operational procedures to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Engage with Center visitors and provide information about amenities, tours, and services.
• Manage budgets, inventory, cash handling, and generate reports for leadership.
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for local operations.
• Plan and oversee programs, logistics, and events within assigned areas.
• Coordinate communications for social media and local media publications.
• Support evaluation and implementation of new programs and events.
• Develop community relationships with military, partners, and donors.
• Coordinate resources and recruit/ supervise volunteers for activities.
• Train volunteers and run recognition events; report volunteer hours.
