Job summary

USO is seeking a Center Operations Specialist in San Antonio, TX to manage daily Center operations, deliver excellent customer service, and create a welcoming space for service members and their families.

You will work with a diverse team to plan programs and events, coordinate volunteers, and ensure safe facilities while upholding USO guidelines and mission-driven activities. This role requires flexibility, teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2+ years work experience in event management, marketing, retail, customer service, recreation facility or related role.
• Relevant experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with volunteer management software and social media.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day Center operational procedures, ensuring a cost-effective, safe, welcoming and clean environment.
• Engage with Center visitors and act as a subject matter expert about amenities, tours, classes, programs and services.
• Assist with operations and programs communications and awareness; prepare announcements and photos for social media and websites.
• Plan and oversee programs and events, coordinating materials and assets for effective delivery.
• Coordinate volunteers, manage hours, approvals and reports in the volunteer database.
• Assist with budgeting, inventory reporting and cash handling as requested.
