Job summary

The USO Center Operations Specialist plays a hands-on role in running day-to-day Center operations, delivering exceptional customer service to service members and families. You will help design and deliver programs, manage volunteers, and maintain a welcoming, cost‑effective environment across USO Centers.

You will work with internal teams to plan events, coordinate resources, and ensure compliance with safety and sanitary guidelines while supporting outreach to the military community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years work experience in event management, marketing, retail, customer service, recreation facility or related role.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem‑solving skills; ability to interact with diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with computers and basic software including Microsoft Office; familiarity with volunteer management tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day Center operations ensuring a safe, welcoming and well‑maintained space.
• Engage visitors, provide information about amenities, tours, classes, programs and services; supervise vendors as needed.
• Assist with budget tracking, inventory reporting, and generate ad hoc operational reports.
• Maintain SOPs for local operations and Center activities to enable prompt reporting and continuity.
• Plan and oversee operational areas such as programs, logistics, inventory, and events; assist with communications.
• Coordinate volunteer processes, recruit, train, and recognize volunteers; manage volunteer reports.
