Job summary

The USO in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Center Operations Specialist to drive day‑to‑day center operations, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain a welcoming environment for service members and families.

You will support program delivery, manage volunteers, assist with budgets and inventory, and help develop engaging programs and events across USO centers, ensuring efficient, cost‑effective operations. This role requires strong communication and flexibility to work non‑standard hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years work experience in event management, marketing, retail, customer service, recreation facility or related role.
• Experience in a nonprofit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day Center operational procedures, ensuring a cost-effective, safe, welcoming and clean environment.
• Engage with Center visitors and troubleshoot issues; may direct vendors.
• Assist with budgets, inventory, and reporting; provide ad hoc reports.
