Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years work experience in a business operations role, event management or marketing, including 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in nonprofit, military, multicultural, or global organization preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of volunteer management software and social media platforms.
  • Experience with Digital Cheetah preferred.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in host country language preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interact with USO Leadership and diverse audiences with integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
  • Basic math and cash donation handling and reporting procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visitor and guest center that is effective, inviting, safe, clean, and ready for use.
  • Ensure equipment is clean and well functioning and enforce sanitary guidelines and food handling regulations.
  • Lead the planning, quality, and delivery of programs on and off US military installations.
  • Deliver services, equipment and events within budget limits.
  • Identify and implement operational and program improvements that meet USO standards of excellence.
  • Coach and mentor USO Center staff and oversee volunteers scheduling, activities, recruitment, training and recognition.
  • Develop, improve and maintain working relationships with USO vendors and local contractors.
  • Create, maintain, communicate, and enforce SOPs and the Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP).
  • Prepare reports including financial, operational, and statistical; maintain records for local procedures.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about center operations; publish announcements and photos.
