Job summary

The USO is seeking a Center Operations Coordinator for our Fort Belvoir location. You’ll support a variety of center programs, events and services, creating a welcoming, clean, and engaging environment for troops and visitors.

You will assist with operations, communications, and volunteer coordination, while maintaining safety and following USO guidelines. Prior center operations or relevant admin experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years work experience in administrative, event management, marketing support, retail, customer service, recreation facility or related role.
• Preferred: experience in not-for-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Punctual, organized and self-motivated with ability to adapt to changing needs.
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment and take initiative.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• General knowledge of military community preferred.
• Ability to design and format promotional materials; familiarity with print/production processes.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, orient them to the Center and its offerings, and provide high-quality customer service.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures, key control, Emergency Preparedness Plan compliance, and safety protocols.
• Maintain readiness and cleanliness of the Center and equipment; monitor inventory and replenish supplies.
• Plan and execute programs and events, ensuring volunteer coverage and program delivery quality.
• Create flyers, brochures and posters; manage Center's social media presence per USO guidelines.
• Handle calls, emails, and maintain reports, files and databases.
• May train volunteers and process cash or card sales; may operate a USO or personal vehicle.
• Assist with backfilling for Center Operations Specialists as needed.
