Job summary

FedEx Freight in Texas seeks a professional Class A CDL driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations.

You will perform daily pre-trip inspections, hook and unhook trailers, maintain accurate logs, comply with DOT regulations and hazardous materials rules, and communicate with dispatch about delays or problems to ensure on-time, safe deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• 1 year of experience within the last 3 years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT FMC regulations under 391.
• LCV knowledge for listed states and standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch about delays, arrivals, or problems.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations and company policies.
