Job summary

FedEx Freight seeks a Class A CDL driver to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations, operating tractor-trailer combinations. You will perform daily pre-trip inspections, hook/unhook trailers, complete paperwork, and maintain logs.

Qualifications include a valid Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, 1 year experience or Driver Development Course completion, clean MVR, and DOT compliance. Overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements. Automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• 1 year experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT FMC Regs under 391.
• LCV qualifications apply in specified states.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook and break down sets of trailers (≈100 lbs lift).
• Ability to sit, bend, twist and climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrates initiative and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer combinations to pickup and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies as required.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
