Job summary

Peak Utility Infrastructure is seeking an Operator II to join a 2–4 person crew for placing utilities at residential, multifamily, and commercial sites. CDL A is required; you will operate heavy equipment and perform safe, precise digging per plans.

The role demands endurance, ability to lift up to 80 lbs, and strict adherence to DOT and company safety rules. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

1+ year of backhoe/mini excavator operation.
1+ year digging around underground utilities.
2+ years dry utilities preferred.
3+ years construction experience required.
CDL Class A license required.
Experience reading basic prints and underground facility sketches preferred.
Candidates must pass background checks and a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Operates, maneuvers, and drives vehicles or mechanized equipment.
Inspects equipment, structures, or materials for defects.
Complies with laws, regulations, and safety standards, reporting issues.
Performs mid-level labor tasks including hand digging, setting up traffic control, and material handling on safety sites.
Reads utility prints and maps for correct installation locations.
Exceeds safety regulations and DOT requirements in daily operations.
Maintains required paperwork and logs, including DVIR and drivers log.
