Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring a Driver to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers, supporting the selling process. The role requires operating tractor-trailer combinations, performing pre-trip inspections, and ensuring safe freight handling.

Starting rate of pay is $31.93 per hour. OT where applicable, with DOT/Hazmat compliance and strong customer service. This position is based in Pontiac, MI and offers opportunities to generate new business leads for the sales team.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• Minimum 1 year experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable MVR per hiring standards and meet DOT regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed and complete required documentation.
