Job summary

FedEx Freight in Gaylord, MI is hiring a CDL‑A driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers while supporting the selling process and maintaining safety standards.

This is a full‑time role requiring: pre‑trip inspections, securing freight, operating tractors and trailers, and accurate documentation. Starting pay is $29.83 per hour with overtime and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• Must possess one year experience within the last three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable MVR according to hiring standards and meet DOT regulatory requirements.
• LCV qualification may apply in designated states; ability to count and perform basic math; good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, sit for extended periods, and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination and perform pre-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and secure freight inside trailers.
• Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment and perform damage recoup/repair.
• Complete required documentation and reports and comply with DOT regulations.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to determine pickup/delivery needs and solicit additional business.
