Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring a CDL A driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting the selling process. You will operate tractor-trailers (including doubles/triples where applicable) and perform daily pre-trip inspections.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, one year of related experience or completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course, and a strong safety record.

Qualifications

• CDL A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements (Automatic transmission restriction allowed).
• 1 year experience within last 3 years or FedEx Freight Driver Development Course completion.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT 391 FMC regulations requirements.
• LCV qualifications may apply in ND and listed states.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles/triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Collect cash or checks for freight charges and maintain documentation.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
