FedEx Freight is seeking candidates for a Driver Development Coordinator role in Windsor Locks, CT. The job focuses on developing pre-qualified employees into CDL-qualified drivers, while supporting operations leadership and delivering strong customer service.

You will lead training, coordinate schedules, and assist in instructor certification to ensure uniformity across programs. Candidates must hold a Class A CDL with hazmat/doubles/triples endorsements, have 2 years CMV experience in the last

Formación

• Must hold a Class A CDL with doubles/triples, hazmat, and tank endorsements.
• Two years’ verifiable CMV experience in the past three years.
• Must have an acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements (FMCSA 391).
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times weekly.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles/triples where applicable) and/or straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and locate dollies as needed.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight with straps, rope, and other securing devices.
• Verify documentation and reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate with dispatch about delays, arrivals, and equipment issues.
• Interact with customers to determine pick-up/delivery needs and solicit additional business.
• Lead or assist driver development and instructor certification activities.
• Conduct road tests and promote safe driving practices per Smith System guidelines.
