FedEx Freight in Windsor Locks seeks a CDL-A licensed driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations and support dock operations. Expect pre/post-trip inspections, freight handling, and strict adherence to safety regulations.

You will communicate with Dispatch and assist customers with pick-up or delivery needs. Role includes occasional road driving duties and high physical requirements, with pay starting at $27.86/hour and room for growth based on experience and shifts.

Formación

• Must possess a Class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must have acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.

Responsabilidades

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip/post-trip/inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation.
• Communicate with Dispatch about delays or issues.
• Provide internal/external customer service.
• Assist customers with pick-up/delivery needs.
• Occasionally perform road driver or freight handler duties.
• Chain vehicle tires as needed.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
