Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. The role includes pre-trip inspections, securing freight, and compliance with DOT regulations.

You will communicate with dispatch and customers to determine needs and pursue additional business opportunities. Qualifications include a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, 1 year of relevant experience or FedEx Driver Development, and a compliant MVR.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• One year experience in past three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable MVR according to hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT FMC regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combos, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Handle freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers about pickups/deliveries.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service and solicit additional business.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
