Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking drivers with a Class A CDL to operate tractor-trailer combinations and perform related non-driving duties, including forklift and dock work. You will conduct safety inspections, secure freight, and assist with documentation and customer service needs across day or night routes.

Starting pay is $27.26 per hour with a range up to $32.47 hourly. Eligible benefits include health, vision, dental, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and more.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL.
• MVR acceptable per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, and climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convertor dollies as needed.
• Move freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch about delays, equipment issues, and needs.
• Provide internal/external customer service and identify new business leads.
• If needed, perform road driver or freight handler duties.
• Assist with tire chains when required.
