Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailers, including doubles, and perform pre/post-trip inspections. The role involves completing required paperwork, following Dispatch instructions, and may include non-driving duties like forklift operation or dock work.

The position requires a Class A CDL, solid MVR and DOT compliance, with the possibility of overnight stays and varying shifts. Competitive hourly pay is offered with benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or CLP before entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers with ~100 lb lift.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and company procedures.
• Possibly perform city driver or freight handler duties as needed.
