Job summary

FedEx Freight seeks a tractor-trailer operator to handle long-distance routes, conduct comprehensive safety inspections, and manage daily logs with DOT-compliant documentation. The role may involve non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work.

Starting pay is $27.26 per hour, with overtime possibilities and varying schedules. Candidates must hold a valid CDL A or CLP and meet DOT requirements. ADA assistance is available per FedEx policy.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or CLP for entry into job classification.
• Must have a clean motor vehicle record per hiring standards.
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and log activities.
• Ability to read and follow DOT regulations and company procedures.
• Basic math skills and clear written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies as required.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as needed.
• Provide internal/external customer service and support dock duties.
