Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver with a Class A CDL to operate tractor-trailers, including doubles and straight trucks, and to perform dock duties. The role includes pre/post-trip inspections, equipment hookups, freight handling with forklift and pallet jacks, and ensuring proper freight security and documentation.

Starting rate of pay is $27.26 per hour. The job may involve working day and night hours, with exposure to noise, dust, and diesel fumes, and requires DOT compliance and strong

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL or a commercial learner permit (CLP).
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR Part 391.
• Ability to perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds and work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convertor dollies to/from tractors.
• Handle freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and ropes.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
