Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards based on hiring criteria.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers that require an average lift force of ~100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from tractor or trailer.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions for delays, arrivals, or equipment issues.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding requirements.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Where needed, perform city driver or freight handler duties.
• Operate freight handling equipment such as forklift or pallet jack.
