Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking licensed CDL drivers to operate tractor-trailers, including doubles and straight trucks, for pickup and delivery between service centers. Duties may include forklift operation and dock work. Overnight travel and variable hours are possible.

Starting pay ranges from $27.26/hour, with a top rate depending on experience and route. Benefits include health/dental/vision, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and paid time off. ADA accommodations available upon request.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under section 391 of the FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions.
