Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver for tractor-trailer operations, including doubles and straight trucks, with a focus on safety and compliance. The role involves pre/post-inter-trip inspections, accurate logkeeping, and following dispatch instructions for on-time deliveries.

Candidates must hold a class A CDL or CLP and meet DOT requirements. Occasional overnight travel and freight-handling duties may be required; this is a full-time position at FedEx Freight facilities.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or CLP before entering job classification.
• Must maintain acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT 391 regulatory requirements.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convertor dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding when required.
• Provide customer service and support freight handling duties when needed.
• Operate freight handling equipment such as forklift or pallet jack as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
