Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations and perform dock and non-driving duties as needed. The role requires a CDL or CLP, strict safety inspections, and the ability to lift up to roughly 100 pounds several times a day.

Starting wage is $27.86 per hour with potential to reach $33.17 per hour. This on-site position offers full benefits and the chance to work varying shifts including overnight stays, with eligibility for a bonus and retirement plan participation.

Qualifications

• CDL or CLP required prior to entering job classification.
• Must meet DOT/FMCSA requirements.
• Basic math and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy trailers components; physical stamina needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and placarding as required.
• Possible non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work.
• Drive long distances day and night in various weather.
• Possible overnight stays for scheduling needs.
